Survey of counsel at Fortune 1000 companies recognizes MoFo for the breadth and quality of its intellectual property litigation and patent work
SAN FRANCISCO (August 4, 2014) – In a significant testament to both the range and the quality of its intellectual property practice, Morrison & Foerster has been recognized as one of the nation’s top IP firms in a BTI Consulting Group survey of in-house counsel. MoFo is one of only 12 law firms nationally that received “VIP” status as a result of its ability to offer clients a complete package of top-tier complex IP litigation and patent prosecution work.
In compiling its rankings, BTI interviewed more than 175 general counsel and IP decision makers at Fortune 1000 companies. The research was undertaken as part of the company’s telescopic “Intellectual Property Outlook” for 2015.
BTI President Michael Rynowecer told Law360, which reported the results, “Clients are much happier when they use the same firm for both litigation and prosecution, so if you can deliver across that spectrum, if you're respected across all those individual areas of IP, that gives you a real advantage in the marketplace.”
MoFo’s IP work was also recognized by BTI in its “IP and IP Litigation Powerhouses” categories, as a “Standout” in Complex IP Litigation and among Most-Favored IP Departments, and among Go-To IP Litigation Providers.
Rachel Krevans, chair of Morrison & Foerster’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group and co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, said, “We’re honored to be recognized by leading in-house counsel for our dynamic approach to providing a full range of IP advice to help our clients achieve their business goals. When our trial lawyers work together with our incredible group of prosecutors, many with advanced scientific, research and technology backgrounds, their combined perspectives give clients what they need to stay at the forefront of every technical field.”
BTI is a leading provider of market research for professional service firms. Interviews for the new IP survey were conducted by BTI’s staff researchers between Dec. 3, 2013, and June 10, 2014.
