Rick Fischer Honored with Top International Compliance Industry Award

Washington, D.C., November 19, 2012 – Morrison & Foerster LLP is pleased to announce that Rick Fischer, a Partner in the firm's Washington, D.C. office and the co-head of the firm's Financial Services practice, has been honored by Thomson Reuters Accelus with its 2012 international Outstanding Long-Term Service to the Compliance Industry Award. Rick was recognized for his work on behalf of financial institutions and other companies on financial services, payment system and retail banking issues.

As one of the leading bank regulatory lawyers in the United States, Rick has worked closely with clients on every major legislative and regulatory initiative affecting the financial services industry since the mid-1970s.  Rick is currently working with the Bipartisan Policy Center, and serves as task force member for the Center's Financial Regulatory Reform Initiative, established to evaluate the financial regulatory system as a result of the Dodd-Frank Act and offer recommendations on improving the law while balancing consumer protection with economic growth and financial stability.

The Thomson Reuters Compliance Awards, which are given annually, were created in 2004 to recognize the achievements of compliance professionals from around the world and across the financial services industry.
