William Megevick Joins Morrison & Foerster LLP as Partner in Its New York Office

New York - April 5, 2001 - Morrison & Foerster LLP today announced that William F. Megevick, Jr. will be joining the firm as a partner in the Finance and Infrastructure Group in the firm's New York office. Mr. Megevick joins the firm from the New York office of Davis Polk & Wardwell where he was Counsel in the Credit Transactions Group. "Bill brings a wealth of valuable project finance experience to Morrison & Foerster," said Howard E. Heiss, managing partner of Morrison & Foerster's New York office. "Our firm is well-known for project finance work domestically and in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Bill's presence in the New York office will enhance what is unquestionably a dynamic and growing practice." Mr. Megevick has a broad-based international finance practice, representing commercial lenders, multilateral and bilateral government financial institutions, and project sponsors in developing and financing infrastructure projects in emerging markets throughout the world, including, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, and Tunisia. He has particular expertise in the power, telecom and natural resources sectors. He also handles general credit and banking transactions, political risk insurance, cross-border secured and structured financings, and acquisition finance. In 1985, Mr. Megevick received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of California Hastings College of the Law, where he was Staff Editor of the Hastings Law Journal. He received an M.S. in 1995, from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and his undergraduate degree in 1982 from Columbia University. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Megevick was an associate in the New York office of Davis Polk & Wardwell. From 1987 to 1994, he was an associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He joined Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1995 as associate counsel in the Securities Investments Group. He re-joined Davis Polk & Wardwell in 1996.
