The commercialization of space is upon us, and each of the past five years has witnessed a new record for private investment in the sector. This year’s conference will explore the opportunities and challenges presented by the SpaceTech ecosystem, including an overview of the current investment landscape, a discussion around the development of a legal and regulatory framework, and a selection of the most promising opportunities over the next decade. We will hear from leading investors, entrepreneurs, and government officials working in the multi-trillion-dollar NewSpace industry.

Our panels will focus on the following:

Panel 1: The Commercialization of Space – The Current Landscape 

This is an exciting time for the commercial space industry, as 2021 witnessed more than $15 billion invested in space related businesses, nearly doubling the amount from the year before. 2022 is shaping up to be a record year as well. This panel will discuss the meteoric rise of space as an investment sector and explore the areas that investors and companies are actively pursuing.

The promotion and development of a comprehensive legal and regulatory regime to govern the emerging private sector capabilities in space would do much to promote private investment in commercial space. This panel of legal experts from private industry and government will consider the need for a comprehensive legal and regulatory framework governing commercial activities in space and the opportunities such a regime presents for economic growth.
