Safety Capabilities for TransportationSafety is a top concern for the transportation sector.  Our attorneys understand safety management systems for all modes of transportation. We also understand how it intersects with integrating new and disruptive transportation technologies into existing transportation frameworks and the regulatory issues that arise.

Attorneys in our Product Liability group counsel transportation sector clients on risk mitigation strategies, including product liability avoidance and insurance considerations.

We have one of the top-rated aviation litigation practices in the United States. Our lawyers have handled investigations and litigations arising from the most significant commercial aircraft disasters of recent memory: Asiana Airlines Flight 214, Air France Flight 447, Gol Flight 1907, Alaska Airlines Flight 261, and Flash Airlines Flight 604. We have served as national coordinating counsel in multidistrict, multijurisdictional, serial litigation of wrongful death claims related to the most-flown general aviation airplane in the world. Our unique experience helps us understand aircraft. Our team includes military and private pilots with fixed-wing and rotary wing commercial and instrument ratings, aerospace engineers, and the former Chief Counsel of the FAA.

We also understand drones and the particular challenges and opportunities associated with their systems and operations. We have secured access to the national airspaces for manufacturers and operators, counseled on countermeasures, worked with state and local governments on appropriate infrastructure, and ensured that software and hardware platforms appropriately account for risk.  We are helping shape the global regulatory framework to ensure consistent, safe, and harmonized regulation.  We also represent clients developing and repurposing infrastructure that will support this growing industry.
