Alberto is an associate in MoFo’s Complex Litigation + Advisement Group in the San Francisco office, where he focuses on environmental and privacy litigation for technology, consumer products, and other regulated companies. His work frequently involves developing creative, fact-driven litigation strategies that integrate scientific and regulatory considerations, early dispositive motion practice, and targeted discovery to narrow or defeat claims at an early stage.
Alberto’s environmental practice centers on enforcement and defense matters involving federal and state environmental statutes, with experience in citizen-suit litigation and claims involving chemical substances.
In addition, Alberto represents clients in privacy-related litigation, including matters involving technology platforms and data-driven businesses in data breach and wiretapping claims.
Prior to joining the firm, Alberto was an associate at a global law firm. Alberto earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from University of San Diego School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his A.B. in chemistry from Harvard University. While in law school, Alberto was a judicial extern for the Hon. Thomas J. Whelan in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and worked for an environmental nonprofit focused on Clean Water Act enforcement.
