Greg Miller represents companies in complex product liability and commercial litigation in state and federal courts across the United States. He works closely with clients to identify and develop legal strategies designed to resolve disputes efficiently and decisively.

Greg defends clients across a range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, aviation, and publishing. His practice encompasses product liability defense, contract disputes, and commercial arbitrations, as well as other high-stakes litigation involving complex factual matters and novel legal issues.

Greg has achieved significant successes at both the trial and appellate levels. His trial-court experience includes obtaining dismissal of multiple putative class actions in federal district courts, as well as securing dismissal of product liability actions through dispositive motions in state and federal courts.

On appeal, Greg has successfully defended favorable judgments and obtained reversal of unfavorable rulings. He has represented clients in appeals in the Third, Fifth, Eighth, Ninth, Eleventh, and D.C. Circuits, as well as many state appellate courts. His successes include multiple successful interlocutory appeals in the California and Washington appellate courts; affirmance of a forum non conveniens dismissal by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in an aviation matter; reversal of a denial of summary judgment by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in a product-liability case; and affirmance of summary judgment by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in a product-liability case.

Representative Experience

  • Leading E-Commerce Company. Represented a leading e-commerce company in multiple wrongful death lawsuits alleging the company was liable for suicides committed using a product purchased through its website. Secured dismissal of the one federal lawsuit at the motion-to-dismiss stage. Secured a favorable appellate opinion from an intermediate appellate court establishing that the company had no duty to prevent intentional misuse of products.
  • Leading E-Commerce Company. Represented a leading e-commerce company in numerous lawsuits in federal and state courts throughout the country involving products purchased through the company’s website. The representation included multiple victories at the summary judgment stage, as well as appeals in the Third, Fifth, Eighth, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits involving novel and important issues of product-liability law.
  • App-Based Technology Company. Represented an app-based technology company in multiple lawsuits in state and federal courts seeking to hold the company liable for intentional torts committed by third parties that were allegedly attributable to the company’s app platform. Obtained multiple favorable decisions, including at the motion-to-dismiss stage, on summary judgment, and on appeal.
  • App-Based Technology Company. Represented an app-based technology company in multiple state appellate courts, helping to secure favorable opinions vindicating the company’s ability to compel arbitration under the arbitration agreement in its terms of service.
  • Legal Technology Company. Represented a major legal technology company in an appeal, helping to secure reversal of the trial court’s order denying the company’s motion to compel arbitration.
  • Aviation Engineering Company. Represented an aviation engineering company in a wrongful death lawsuit arising from an airplane crash. Secured dismissal in the trial court on personal jurisdiction grounds and won affirmance of the dismissal on appeal.
  • Leading Aviation Manufacturer. Represented a major aviation manufacturer in multiple wrongful death lawsuits and contract disputes. Secured multiple favorable decisions, including an appeal to the D.C. Circuit affirming dismissal based on forum non conveniens.
