Harriet Slater is an associate in the firm’s London office and a member of the Litigation Group.
Harriet advises clients on white collar defense and investigations, including cross-border criminal government investigations, internal investigations, and regulatory investigations.
Harriet also has experience in complex commercial litigation across a variety of industries and subject matters, and transaction due diligence including contractual analysis on compliance, corruption, supply chain, and bribery issues for international clients.
Harriet has experience representing clients in the healthcare, aviation, and banking industries in connection with complex investigations relating to matters before the U.S. and UK governments as well as experience defending individuals in prosecutions by the Serious Fraud Office.
Harriet is an author of the England & Wales chapter of the International Investigations Review (12th edition released in 2022).
Harriet has an active pro bono practice that is focused on representing individuals in the criminal justice system and providing legal advice to charities and NGOs, as well as supporting rule of law and criminal investigation projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.

- Conducting various international internal investigations on behalf of an international pharmaceutical company following allegations of bribery and corruption.
- Conducting a global compliance risk assessment for a global company in the aviation industry.
- Conducting a gender discrimination assessment/internal investigation for an international accountancy firm.
- Conducting an internal investigation for a national aviation company, with related U.S. civil litigation issues.
- Conducting an internal investigation for a global entertainment company in response to corruption indictments of related individuals.
- Representing multiple individuals in a spoofing investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice.
- Representing a publicly listed investment firm in investigations by the Financial Conduct Authority and Serious Fraud Office.
- Defending an individual in prosecutions by the Serious Fraud Office.
- Conducting transaction due diligence and contractual analysis on compliance, corruption, supply chain, sanctions, and bribery issues for international clients.

- Advising a U.S. technology conglomerate in various litigation and regulatory inquiries, including its global litigation and regulatory response in relation to a data breach.
- Conducting an investigation for a global bank into criminal conduct allegations, including tipping off offences, made by a whistleblower.
Complex Commercial Litigation
- Representing a Chinese biopharmaceutical company against claims brought by a major shareholder in relation to the outcome of the Company’s AGM, and the validity of the company’s shareholder rights plan, before the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal.
- Acting for an international pharmaceutical company’s defense, and successful settlement, in a guarantee claim.
- Representing an American airline in English civil cartel litigation brought by 500+ claimants.
- Representing a multi-million-pound real-estate company in bringing litigation based on breach of warranties involving the development of a hotel in the Caribbean.
- Acting for a high-profile individual in the entertainment and media industry in an employment claim arising out of the alleged misconduct of an American former film producer.
