Tiffani B. Figueroa is a partner in the Litigation Department and is based in Morrison Foerster’s New York office. Her practice focuses on complex litigation, with an emphasis on class action and commercial litigation.
Tiffani has experience representing technology firms, financial institutions, and other clients in matters pending before federal courts, state courts, and arbitration tribunals, as well as experience driving strategy in international matters as coordinating counsel. She works together with clients on product advisement and to litigate and resolve matters involving a broad range of claims. Her experience includes work on matters involving contract disputes, false advertising, privacy laws, antitrust laws, and state unfair and deceptive practices statutes, among other areas. Tiffani handles all aspects of matters, from developing strategy to performing day-to-day case management and briefing various motions.
Representative matters include securing three motion to dismiss rulings in favor of a technology company selling consumer products and services; defending a major shipping company against claims challenging fee disclosures; defending a technology company in a putative class action alleging false advertising of a product and coordinating strategy on related matters; representing a wire manufacturer in an antitrust and false advertising suit against three major competitors; and representing financial institutions in actions challenging overdraft fees, other deposit or credit card product fees, disclosures, and practices.
Tiffani is committed to MoFo’s pro bono initiatives and has been involved in defending against a condominium board in a foreclosure action, defending against an apartment complex in a housing discrimination matter, and managing various research projects to help inform strategy and next steps on key issues for non-profit clients, among other matters. She is also dedicated to the firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts, and regularly participates in recruiting, affinity groups, mentoring, and other opportunities to advance diversity at the firm.
Tiffani received her B.A. from Georgetown University. She earned her J.D. magna cum laude from Hofstra University School of Law, where she was a notes and comments editor for the Hofstra Law Review. While in law school, Tiffani was also a judicial intern for the Honorable Robert P. Patterson, Jr., of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She clerked for the Honorable LaShann DeArcy Hall of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
