Representing a cloud-based software company in a putative class action filed under the California Consumer Privacy Act, alleging that the company was responsible for a data security incident on its ecommerce platform that resulted in the improper disclosure of consumers’ personal information.

Represented a gaming and hospitality company in a class action matter for alleged violation of the Biometric Information Privacy Act. Defended against allegations that client unlawfully captured, collected, possessed, received, transferred and used biometric information and identifiers of plaintiffs by extracting facial recognition data without appropriate consent.

Representing technology company in consumer class actions pending in courts around the country, challenging such things as recruitment practices, cancellation fees, and sending texts to consumers (i.e., TCPA claims). In one of these matters, achieved a ruling in favor of defendant after evidentiary hearing in the Northern District of California.

Represented technology company in a case involving data breach claims based on allegations of improper disclosure of personal identifying information, including social security numbers.

Represented a consumer electronics manufacturer in class action involving alleged violations of the Wiretap Act and unfair competition claims. Defeated class certification and achieved summary judgment in favor of defendant, which was affirmed by the Ninth Circuit.

Defeated a litigated class certification motion in a putative nationwide class action alleging that defendant made auto-dialed calls to cell phones without consent.

Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer in multi-district federal and state court litigation brought by states and counties against dozens of pharmaceutical companies involving the alleged overpayment by the Medicaid program for prescription drugs. All related cases settled on a favorable basis.

Represented wireless carrier in coordinated multi-district litigation of more than 30 putative class actions that challenged charges for data usage by the wireless carrier.
