Morrison & Foerster Partner Sarah Thomas will be speaking on “The courts and IA: the year in review” panel at the GAR Live Hong Kong event as part of the Hong Kong Arbitration Week on October 28, 2021. The panel will review a series of seminal arbitration-related judgments from some of the world’s top courts this year, and assess how recent developments across the region will impact the international arbitration practice.

Some of the court decisions the panel are likely to address include:

U.S. Supreme Court – Section 1782 and discovery aid;
UK Supreme Court – Halliburton v Chubb decision;
India’s Supreme Court – PASL Wind Solutions v GE Power Conversion India decision; and
China's Supreme Court – La Dolce Vita Fine Dining Group Holdings Limited v Zhang Lan and Grand Lan Holdings Group (BVI) Limited decision.

The event will be held at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and virtually. In-house counsel and government representatives are welcome to attend this hybrid event on a complimentary basis.
