The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) hosted a virtual webinar on November 18, 2021 that explored the importance of cyber-enforcement in the utilities industry and the continued impact of COVID-19. Morrison & Foerster partners Miriam Wugmeister and Haima Marlier spoke on the “SEC Flips the Switch on Cyber-Enforcement: What You Need to Know” panel, where they discussed the SEC’s recent wave of interest in cybersecurity disclosures as well as recent cybersecurity enforcement actions brought by the SEC. They also shared useful takeaways on disclosure controls and procedures most relevant to the utilities sector.
