Global Antitrust Co-Chair Lisa Phelan will be taking the stage with fellow industry leaders at The Mayflower Hotel on November 9, 2022, for the GCR Live: Women in Antitrust 2023 conference. There Lisa will be moderating a debate - style panel entitled, "Are the EU right that new regulatory tools are what’s needed to face the power of big tech?"
Here, Julie Soloway, Partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon, Avigail Kifer, Principal at Cornerstone, Shari Ross Lahlou, Partner at Dechert, and Caroline Hobson, Partner at Cooley, will discuss both sides of how the EU has taken the stance that new regulatory tools and not just antitrust enforcement are what’s needed given the power of big tech. And, are new regulations required globally? If the US sticks with antitrust enforcement as its main tool, will it be left behind? With experienced professional from both sides of the pond the value of this key of having multiple perspectives on one stage will be tremendous - not to mention exciting!
GCR Live: Women in Antitrust 2022 highlights exceptional female practitioners, enforcers, economists, and in-house counsel in the competition industry. This year's conference will be chaired by Edith Ramirez, Hogan Lovells and Kristina Nordlander, Allen & Overy.
