Southeast Asia Dealmaking in 2023: Where Will the Action Be?
22 Feb 2023 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM SGT
2022 saw dealmaking across Southeast Asia and the rest of the region decline in the wake of tumultuous macroeconomic, geopolitical, and regional conditions. While these issues are expected to remain largely unchanged this year, what is the outlook for the private equity market in Southeast Asia in 2023?
Join us for an interactive webinar where Morrison Foerster Singapore’s Private Equity partners, Shirin Tang, Steve Tran, Lip Kian Ang and Tabitha Saw, will be joined by Karen Cheung, partner of BDA Partners, to discuss the investment landscape across Southeast Asia. Key topics include Indonesia, Vietnam, and Singapore as three of the most active investment destinations in the region—and the key legal and regulatory issues that dealmakers need to be aware of to avoid some of the pitfalls of investing in those countries.
They will also take a deep dive into trends that have emerged in these countries, including:
- Specific sectors that are seeing a rise in deal activity, including technology, consumer, real estate, life sciences, and healthcare;
- The expansion of Chinese funds into Southeast Asia; and
- ESG considerations to take note of.
