MoFo partner Alyssa Monsen has been selected as a participant for the inaugural Lead Counsel Summit. The Summit aims to increase the number of women lead counsel in the area of IP litigation and appeals through training and promoting summit graduates.MoFo partners Daralyn Durie and Bita Rahebi are founders on the leadership team of the <a href="https://www.leadcounselsummit.com/" target="_blank">Lead Counsel Summit</a>. LCS seeks to increase the number of women lead counsel in private practice in the area of intellectual property litigation and appeals. An annual summit provides training and support to women litigators who are on the cusp of serving as lead counsel, to help them master the courtroom, client, and team skills needed to succeed in that role.<hr>

Alyssa Monsen is a seasoned lawyer specializing in life sciences patent litigation.Her legal practice is concentrated in U.S. federal district and appellate courts, as well as inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Alyssa has a robust track record of representing innovator pharmaceutical companies in high-stakes litigation, with a focus on therapies related to oncology, ophthalmology, and infectious diseases.Her experience spans all phases of patent litigation, encompassing pre-litigation strategic planning, trial, and appeals to the Federal Circuit. The decision was affirmed by the Federal Circuit.</li><li>AirWatch, LLC v. Good Technology Corp. (Northern District of Georgia; District of Delaware). Represented AirWatch in patent infringement actions against Good and also defended AirWatch in a patent infringement action in D. Delaware.</li><li>Digital Empire v. Compal Electronics (Southern District of California). Lead counsel defending original design manufacturer and three of its subsidiaries in patent infringement action; successfully obtained order for fees and costs under 35 U.S.C. § 285 (exceptional case).</li><li>eTool Development, Inc. v. National Semiconductor Corporation (Eastern District of Texas). Represented Texas Instruments (formerly National Semiconductor) in a patent infringement lawsuit involving online configuration software. Prevailed on summary judgment on two separate non-infringement grounds. Successfully defeated motion for reconsideration.</li><li>Cypress Semiconductor v. Altera Corporation (Santa Clara Superior Court). Represented Altera Corporation in trade secrets litigation brought by Cypress Semiconductor concerning programmable logic devices. A favorable settlement was reached prior to trial.</li></ul>
