Helen Yan, an associate in the Business Restructuring + Insolvency practice, will present at the American Bar Association's International Law Section 2025 Annual Conference. She will moderate the panel "Cross-Border Bankruptcy Strategies: Leveraging U.S. Mechanisms for Asian Companies", which will be held at the Penn Club of New York in New York, NY on April 29, 2025, from 1:45 - 3:00 p.m. ET. This session will focus on how Asian companies, particularly Chinese enterprises, are responding to increasing financial stress by turning to foreign bankruptcy regimes to restructure their operations and manage liabilities. The panel will explore the growing trend of utilizing U.S. bankruptcy courts as a venue for cross-border insolvencies involving Asian companies, especially amid evolving legal landscapes in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and offshore jurisdictions.
