Adi Kamdar is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group.Adi’s practice focuses on helping clients navigate cutting edge issues related to the internet and technology, including copyright, trademark, patent, right of publicity, Section 230, computer security laws, and the First Amendment. His recent work includes litigating on behalf of and advising generative AI companies on intellectual property and intermediary liability issues.Adi also has a robust pro bono practice and has represented clients in civil and criminal matters, including in state and federal appeals and a federal jury trial.  His pro bono work focuses on civil liberties and civil rights issues, from the First and Fourteenth Amendment to reproductive rights.Adi is passionate about the intersection of technology, law, and policy. Prior to joining the firm, Adi was an associate at the litigation boutique Durie Tangri LLP. He began his legal career as a legal fellow at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, where he worked on litigation related to free speech online, press freedom, and government transparency. Before pursuing his law degree, Adi was an activist at the Electronic Frontier Foundation and advocated on issues of privacy, speech, and intellectual property policy.Adi earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was an affiliate with the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. During law school, he worked at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.Adi is admitted to practice in California and Washington, D.C.
