Morrison Foerster partner Sandeep Nandivada will speak on the Artificial Intelligence panel at Pub K’s 2026 Annual Review Conference. During the panel, leading practitioners will unpack how AI policy, procurement, and compliance are evolving—and what government contractors and in-house counsel need to understand now to deploy AI responsibly and defensibly. The discussion will examine federal AI policy during the Trump Administration, including key OMB memoranda, AI-related executive orders, and the AI Action Plan, with a focus on how these frameworks shape contractor obligations and agency expectations.
Panelists will explore the practical realities of contractor AI deployment, from governance and implementation risks to the legal and operational challenges of integrating AI into day-to-day work. The session will address why AI adoption often surges early—driven by a small group of “super users”—and why usage frequently plateaus or declines without structured training, clear adoption pathways, and internal controls.
The conversation will also cover strategies for sustaining AI adoption at scale, navigating state AI laws and restrictions, assessing federal preemption issues, and understanding new AI-related policies and requirements included in the NDAA. Attendees will leave with a clearer view of how agencies and contractors can introduce AI in ways that are compliant, durable, and aligned with evolving federal and state requirements.
