Morrison Foerster is proud to sponsor the next Bay Area Plant Hub Symposium (BAPH) taking place on Earth Day at UC Berkeley.
This full-day event is being co-organized with the American Society of Plant Biologists Western Section (ASPB)and gives plant scientists, Ag-biotech innovators, and entrepreneurs from across the Bay Area and Western Section the chance to engage and share their work. There will be multiple opportunities for participants to share their science, including oral presentations at the symposium, a poster session, and a dedicated career development session.
MoFo Food & Ag partner Meghan Poon will lead a session on IP protection of new agriculture technologies, including utility patent strategies for new traits and varieties, trade secret protection, plant variety protection (PVP) certificates, and plant patents. She will also discuss the rapidly shifting global regulatory landscape for gene-edited plants. Meghan will be joined by ECVC Partner Fredo Silva to host a round table discussion over lunch on launching, protecting, financing and collaborating in the agtech ecosystem. The evening will conclude with a networking reception, where MoFo Food+Ag patent agents will manage a table and field recruiting questions.
Updates on the BAPH meeting can be found at the Plantae site and on the ASPB Western Section Site.
