Morrison Foerster is pleased to announce that partner Lisa Phelan has been selected to serve as faculty at the ABA Antitrust Law Section’s 2026 Antitrust Masters Course, taking place October 21–24, 2026 in Cambridge, Maryland.
Lisa will be offering insights at two sessions on Thursday, October 22:
Cartel Investigations
Lisa will be featured on a panel discussing how DOJ decides between criminal and civil enforcement (particularly in hot-button cases involving information-sharing and AI tools), the Corporate Leniency policy, grand jury practice, plea negotiations, and managing collateral consequences.
Pleading and Proving Conspiracy
She will also speak on a panel addressing pleading standards in today’s complex antitrust class action cases, including “plus factors,” discovery, and economic evidence, with lessons from recent AI and algorithmic conspiracy cases.
Both topics draw on Lisa’s significant experience with antitrust conspiracy claims from both the government and defense sides. A former chief of the DOJ Antitrust Division’s National Criminal Enforcement Section, Lisa now heads Morrison Foerster’s Cartel Defense Practice and serves as vice chair of the ABA Antitrust Law Section’s International Cartel Task Force.
Morrison Foerster looks forward to participating in this year’s Masters Course and engaging with colleagues across the antitrust community.
