Morrison Foerster, in partnership with FIESTA, is offering a ScaleUp Bootcamp in Austin, a complimentary, high-impact program designed for entrepreneurs who are ready to scale their endeavors. This curated bootcamp brings together the most popular and practical sessions from MoFo’s ScaleUp Speaker Series into a single, focused experience.
Designed for founders navigating key growth milestones, the ScaleUp Bootcamp offers practical guidance to position companies for continued growth. In just a few hours, founders will gain a clear legal roadmap for launching, funding, and scaling their startups, along with actionable insights from VCs, successful founders, and the MoFo team to help them avoid common pitfalls. Join us for an evening of expert guidance, meaningful networking, and a complimentary dinner.
Space is limited, and we encourage early registration to take full advantage of this founder-driven program and the opportunity to connect with peers, experienced founders, and Morrison Foerster attorneys.
Topics Will Include:
- Protecting Your Intellectual Property
Learn the basics of the different types of IP, the importance of proper IP ownership, and when to undertake a freedom to operate analysis, as well as how to avoid patent and trade secret missteps that may prevent you from protecting your IP. - Raising Capital: Angel & Venture Financing Fundamentals
Learn from Matthew Saitta, Principal at Silverton Partners, about what venture capital investors look for, when VC financing may make sense for your company, and the fundamentals of early-stage fundraising. The session will cover topics including stacking SAFEs, priced equity rounds, and negotiating a term sheet.
- Most Common Legal Mistakes That Founders Make
MoFo attorneys will discuss common legal mistakes founders encounter as they launch, fundraise and grow their companies, including incorporation decisions, cap table fundamentals, structuring financings to preserve founder equity, and the potential pitfalls of relying on AI for legal guidance.
- Fireside Chat with a Founder and the Presenting Speakers
To conclude the program, MoFo Austin Managing Partner Shannon Sibold and FIESTA founder Cherie Werner will moderate a fireside chat with Katherine Allen, Co-Founder and CEO of Flo. Katherine co-founded Flo while a student at The University of Texas at Austin and has since grown the company into a leading legal talent platform serving more than 250 clients, including 75% of Am Law 100 firms. The conversation will feature candid insights from Katherine’s journey building and scaling Flo, raising venture capital, and navigating the challenges that come with growing a startup, followed by an opportunity for questions from the audience.
