Simon Arlington and Annabel Gillham authored an article for Business Leader discussing the role of data in M&A valuations, cybersecurity due diligence, as well as the impact of changing data protection rules on M&A transactions.

“Data has become the core building block for all businesses over the past few years, and M&A can provide companies with much-needed assets to help them remain competitive and also to help them scale,” the authors wrote. “With so many M&A deals failing once the acquirer gets under the bonnet of a business, the right due diligence process on both sides means that everyone is entering negotiations with their eyes open, increasing the likelihood of a successful deal.”
