Rick Fischer, Jeremy Mandell and Calvin Funk were the contributing editor's to Lexology's book "In-Depth Consumer Finance Law." They wrote the Editors' Preface and the USA section. "In-Depth: Consumer Finance Law" is a country-by-country survey of the most consequential laws and regulations governing consumer financial services. Focusing on prominent recent developments in the sector, it examines key topics including payments, deposits, and revolving credit and instalment credit arrangements.
In the preface, the editors noted, "The combination of rapid innovation, evolving market participants, and shifting political priorities is giving rise to novel legal questions - and recasting long-standing doctrines in new forms. This year's survey examines how regulators, courts and industry stakeholders are approaching these questions with respect to payments, deposits, and revolving and instalment credit products, as well as other emerging financial services that increasingly blur traditional category boundaries."
