A cybercrime group called ShinyHunters recently stole a large amount of data from Canvas, an educational software platform used by almost 9,000 schools. The same criminals are using this information for sextortion. They may contact individuals claiming they have embarrassing photos, private videos, webcam recordings, or other sensitive information and threaten to release it unless they are paid.
