The deals include advising Amperex Technology Limited on its joint ventures for mid-size battery cells and packs and technology cross‑license arrangement with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited, led by Chuan Sun, Randy Laxer and Masato Hayakawa; advising SoftBank on the proposed US$65 billion sale of Arm Limited to NVIDIA, led by Ken Siegel, Eric McCrath, and Gary Brown; and advising Tencent as an investor in a US$2.2 billion equity raise by Rakuten, led by Nozomi Oda and Randy Laxer.Other key members of MoFo‘s renowned Asia TMT team includes Thomas Chou, Seth Graham, Paul McKenzie, Gordon Milner, and Yukihiro Terazawa, based in all key jurisdictions across the Asia Pacific region, including Japan, China (including Hong Kong), and Singapore. MoFo was awarded the M&A Deal of the Year: South and South East Asia for its role in Grab’s record breaking <a href="https://www.mofo.com/resources/news/210413-mofo-advises-leading-institutional-investor.html">SPAC merger with special purpose acquisition company Altimeter Growth Corp</a>, which is the largest U.S. equity listing by a Southeast Asian company to date. The deal closed in December 2021. MoFo Corporate partners Shirin Tang and Ruomu Li advised a leading institutional investor in Grab on the transaction.In addition, Marcia Ellis was shortlisted in the Private Equity Lawyer of the Year category. Marcia Ellis is the Hong Kong based global chair of MoFo’s Private Equity Group and focuses her practice on private equity transactions and complex mergers and acquisitions involving companies, real estate, and other assets located in Asia.
