Suz Mac Cormac spoke to the Financial Times about ESG (environmental, social, and governance) investing, and the opportunities lawyers have to help investors make greener decisions.“Most people viewed my focus on climate and sustainability as ‘good stuff that I did on the side,’ not ‘real’ corporate law work,” said Suz, who chairs the Energy and Social Enterprise + Impact Investing practices at MoFo and has built a career around integrating sustainability into corporate deals. “Now, almost all mainstream companies want to focus on it.”Suz added that lawyers should help companies transition to greener business models, but must be transparent and selective about the work they accept.
