SDNY Alumnae Create Scholarship in Memory of RBG
Carrie Cohen was featured in Law360’s coverage of the When There Are Nine Scholarship Project, a scholarship program to provide financial and mentoring support to female law students, created by a group of women who all served as assistant U.S. attorneys in the Southern District of New York.
“We were thinking it would be amazing if we could pay forward the benefit we all had from each other and from the framework that Justice Ginsburg had provided us with her advocacy when she was an attorney but also decisions on the bench and just for role modeling,” said Carrie, a member of the group of women lawyers behind the project. “[It would be amazing] if we could pay that forward to observe women law students and try not only to help them be able to go to law school but then also have successful careers and have access to the types of networks that do help you thrive as a woman lawyer in a very demanding profession.”
