Morrison & Foerster Secures a Top Spot on American Lawyer’s Prestigious 2021 A-List
Morrison & Foerster is pleased to announce The American Lawyer has released its annual A-List rankings and the firm was once again selected among the Top 10 on this year’s list. This year, the firm moved to seventh overall, the 17th year the Firm has been named to the A-List. Morrison & Foerster received standout scores in the Diversity, Female Equity, and Pro Bono categories, securing a 95.5 Diversity Score, a 94.5 Female Equity Score, and a 91.5 Pro Bono Score. The firm also secured strong rankings in the remaining categories, including the Overall A-List, Revenue Per Lawyer, and Associate scores.
This year’s ranking represents Morrison & Foerster’s best Am Law A-List showing in the last 15 years, and its second best ranking of all time. Further, the firm has now been on the A-List for 17 of the ranking’s 19 years, something almost no other firm has achieved.
“We are ecstatic to once again receive a top 10 spot in The American Lawyer’s prestigious A-List rankings,” said Morrison & Foerster chair Larren M. Nashelsky. “The A-list rankings are widely considered the most important ranking in the legal industry – focusing on more than just firms’ financial performance, evaluating firms on a number of values that are core values here at MoFo – diversity and inclusion, pro bono, and retention and development of associates.”
To determine this year’s rankings, the A-List measured Am Law 200 firms based on a combination of factors, both financial and cultural: revenue per lawyer, pro bono commitment, associate satisfaction, racial diversity and gender diversity (the percentage of equity partners who are women), with RPL and pro bono given double weight.
