High-profile former Southern District of New York prosecutor Ed Imperatore was featured in the New York Law Journal’s coverage of his decision to move into private practice at Morrison Foerster.
During his time with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ed worked on cases in which the office racked up impressive wins in enforcement actions brought under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Among them was the prosecution of a $1 billion bribery and money-laundering scheme involving an Uzbekistan government official that resulted in a Russian telecommunications company agreeing to pay an $85 million penalty. He also worked on a criminal matter against General Motors over a deadly ignition-switch defect that resulted in $900 million owed by the manufacturer.
