Alex Okuliar spoke to Law360 about the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Alvaro Bedoya to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), giving agency Chair Lina Khan a full roster, and the ability to advance her agenda and attempt to further expand the agency's enforcement activity and rulemaking authority.
“It’ll certainly help Chair Khan’s agenda in a lot of different ways,” Alex said.
Alex added that with a 3-2 vote now allowing Khan to bring challenges the commission’s Republicans may have balked at previously, he would expect the chair to consider revisiting those deals. The FTC, he said, may also “become even more aggressive in challenging new deals that come before the agency.”
