Mark Foster was profiled in Law.com’s “How I Made It” series, discussing his journey to being elected to the partnership, his current role as co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Securities Litigation, Enforcement and White-Collar Defense Group, and the philosophies that guide his work.
“I think it came down to having an ownership mentality from day one,” Mark said on why he made partner. “I ‘worried’ about my cases so that the partners I worked with could worry less about them. And I did so in a calm way without showing or feeling the emotion of worry. I also think it had something to do with my strategic thinking and being able to execute against a strategic plan to win cases and deliver clients success.”
On his work philosophy, Mark said: “I look for areas where I can make a difference – making a new argument, making an old argument in a new way, turning a draft one more time to make it simpler, more compelling. I never let the perfect be the enemy of the good, but giving things a second look can yield meaningful results.”
