Miriam Wugmeister was profiled inLaw.com’s “How I Made It” series, discussing her work as co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Global Privacy + Data Security Group, her path to becoming a leader at the firm, and the impact she would like to have on the firm and in the legal industry as a whole.
“I hope I’ve made the legal industry―and the world―a little better by doing my part building a place for women and diverse attorneys of all walks of life,” Miriam said. “I really believe that our diverse viewpoints, and I mean diverse in every sense: political views, cultural views, life experience, age, race, and gender, allow us to be better lawyers. When I started 20 years ago, no one even knew what privacy and data security law was, but Morrison Foerster believed in the practice, believed in me, allowed the practice to grow, and really took a risk on our group’s success. I’m proud of the small corner of the world we’ve carved out and I hope it continues to make ripple effects across the industry.”
