Christiane Stützle, partner and global co-chair of the firm’s Film & Entertainment practice, has received the Mondaq Thought Leadership Award for Intellectual Property in Germany. The recognition was based on total readership over the previous six months on Mondaq, a syndication platform that aggregates thought leadership insights from professional services firms.
Christiane’s practice focuses on all matters in the field of film, music and entertainment, as well as legal and strategic advice and lobbying support at all stages of the development, financing, production, and distribution of audiovisual products and at the intersection of content and technology. She is a Certified Specialist for Copyright and Media Law & Arbitrator on the International Arbitration Panel of the IFTA (Independent Film & Television Alliance, Los Angeles).
The contribution by Christiane Stützle, the top-ranked article for intellectual property in Germany, takes the first legally binding decision on the new § 51 a copyright law, which Morrison Foerster won for the famous Berlin painter Martin Eder, as an opportunity to explain the essential importance of the so-called “pastiche barrier” for the free artistic takeover of pre-existing works and thus for the freedom of art.
