The American Lawyer has named Morrison Foerster as a finalist in the competitive Corporate Purpose Award category for its annual Industry Awards. Additionally, MoFo’s Carrie H. Cohen was named a finalist in the Best Mentor: Law Firm category, with former MoFo partner Alex Iftimie being named a finalist in the Young Lawyer of the Year—Litigation category.
The Corporate Purpose Award honors an organization that has defined and executed an initiative or overall mission that supports the well-being and welfare of its members or other stakeholders. Morrison Foerster has been named as a finalist in recognition of the firm’s post-Dobbs response, including its involvement in precedent-setting reproductive rights cases and its role in forming the Abortion Defense Network. Across MoFo, our lawyers have dedicated 3,000 hours to post-Dobbs advocacy.
Carrie H. Cohen is global co-chair of the Investigations + White-Collar Defense Group as well as co-chair of the firm’s State + Local Government Enforcement team and Workplace Misconduct Investigations Task Force. The Best Mentor: Law Firm category honors individuals who have dedicated a significant portion of their time and energy to mentoring younger professionals. Carrie was recognized for her passionate commitment to mentoring lawyers on all levels and her exemplary work as a MoFo leader promoting the importance of sponsorship, mentorship, and allyship. Carrie also founded the Women in the Profession Program for the New York City Bar’s Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice, which provides professional development programming for women lawyers across 19 chapters throughout Central and Latin America.
Alex Iftimie, former co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Global Risk + Crisis Management Group who recently departed from the firm to go in-house, was named a Finalist in the Young Lawyer of the Year—Litigation category in recognition of the notable matters he led and his exceptional work for his clients.
