Charles Capito spoke to Foreign Investment Watch about the proposed Protect Our Bases Act which would require Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) member agencies to annually update and review their lists of sensitive military, intelligence, and national laboratory sites.
“CFIUS contemplated that Department of Defense would evaluate its sensitive military installations on an ongoing basis and last spring’s additions of eight sites are evidence of its ability to do that,” said Charles. “This legislation would improve the Committee’s ability to stay abreast of the evolving threats posed by proximity to sensitive government installations.”
