Tannyr Pasvantis Recognized with 2023 KINDness Matters Award by Kids in Need of Defense
Tannyr Pasvantis, an associate in Morrison Foerster’s San Francisco office, has been recognized with the KINDness Matters Award for the Washington, D.C. area by Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) 2023. The award recognizes outstanding attorneys and volunteers who have gone above and beyond in providing their assistance to unaccompanied refugee and immigrant children who are in the United States without a parent or legal guardian.
Tannyr has handled a variety of matters for KIND, ranging from T-Visa applications (a path to citizenship for victims of human trafficking), special immigrant juvenile status applications and custody cases (a path to citizenship for abandoned or neglected children), and work authorization applications.
KIND provides advocacy and educational services and pro bono representation to unaccompanied children to ensure their protection and due process rights. KIND was founded by the Microsoft Corporation and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Special Envoy Angelina Jolie and is the leading national organization that works to ensure that no refugee or immigrant child faces immigration court alone.
