James Koukios spoke with Global Investigations Review about a drop in foreign bribery cases brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
James suggested the drop could be attributed to companies and executives questioning the benefits of voluntary disclosures.
“How did self-disclosure and cooperation remediation help if the penalty is just to disgorge all the profits?” James asked.
