On December 5, 2023, Morrison Foerster, along with more than 90 leading law firms in the US, UK, and Canada, joined forces with Diversity Lab to further disability inclusion by implementing one or more of the actions outlined in the recently launched Disability Inclusion Commitments.
Acknowledging that disability inclusion is sometimes overlooked or overshadowed in diversity initiatives, Diversity Lab, and its Disability Inclusion Advisory Group — consisting of the internationally acclaimed advocates and leaders, including MoFo partner and Disability Affinity Network Liaison Davis Cross and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Natalie Kernisant — to tackle this issue. Together, they developed a list of 10 concrete actions organizations should take to promote disability inclusion.
Actions include conducting an annual survey for individuals to identify as having a disability; establishing disability employee resource groups; removing physical barriers for employees, clients, and other constituents; and ensuring their websites and other digital resources are accessible.
