Carrie H. Cohen spoke to Gothamist about New York City Mayor Eric Adams and his campaign receiving subpoenas last month as part of a federal corruption investigation.
Carrie said that while there’s no specific time limit, she would estimate that 9 to 12 months after serving subpoenas “would be the time to close out an investigation or seek indictments from the grand jury.” She added that the one-year timeframe was especially relevant for public corruption cases involving sitting elected officials.
