Kaylee Cox Bankston spoke to Bloomberg Law about the Department of Justice's initial guidance for how to comply with its final rule restricting US companies’ transfers of certain types of data to countries that pose national security concerns. The DOJ released a Compliance Guide and an Implementation and Enforcement Policy for the first 90 days, promising not to begin enforcement until July 8.
Kaylee said, "Waiting until the end of June or July to start trying to figure this out, taking that 90-day extension period, for lack of a better word is not the right approach. It is a lot of work."
