Morrison Foerster is pleased to participate in the UK’s Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) “Diversity in Law Firms’ Workforce” data collection exercise. We are committed to continuously improving inclusivity and have published a summary of our workforce diversity data for our UK practice.

Gender Representation
Of those who responded, 63.2% identified as female and 36.8% as male.
Disability
5.9% of respondents identified as having a disability, while 89.7% did not. A further 4.4% chose not to disclose this information.

Sexual Orientation
The majority (77.9%) identified as heterosexual. Other responses included:
Socioeconomic Background
55.9% of respondents reported that their parents did not attend university, while 42.6% said at least one parent had. 1.5% chose not to respond.
Caring Responsibilities
23.5% of respondents are primary carers for children. Additionally, 13.3% provide care for someone with long-term health issues or a disability, with the majority (83.8%) not holding such responsibilities.
School Type Attended (Ages 11-16)
48.5% attended a non-selective state-run or state-funded school. 8.8% were educated at selective state-funded schools. 22.1% attended independent or fee-paying schools—1.5% with a bursary and 22.1% without. Additionally, 19.1% of respondents attended school outside the UK.
