The San Diego Business Journal has named Morrison Foerster partners Adam Braverman, Brian Kramer, and Karen Potter, Ph.D. on its 2025 Leaders of Influence in Law List, honoring their outstanding contributions to clients and the community.
Adam is a nationally recognized white-collar defense attorney who guides corporations and executives through complex investigations and litigation involving healthcare fraud, global anti-corruption, and the False Claims Act. As the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California and Associate Deputy Attorney General, Adam shaped national enforcement strategy and led multi-agency fraud prosecutions during his 13 years at the U.S. Department of Justice.
Brian, head of MoFo’s Litigation Group in San Diego, is a seasoned trial lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in high-stakes intellectual property litigation. He has successfully tried cases in U.S. district courts and argued before the Federal Circuit, securing hundreds of millions in damages and protecting assets worth billions.
Karen, a leader of MoFo’s Cell and Gene Therapy Patent practice in San Diego, is a nationally recognized patent attorney who advises life sciences innovators—from emerging startups to global pharmaceutical leaders—on patent strategies in complex areas including cell and gene therapies and immunotherapies that are transforming the treatment of disease.
Beyond their client work, all three partners are deeply engaged in mentoring the next generation of attorneys and giving back to their communities. Adam serves on nonprofit boards addressing community-police relations and elder abuse; Brian leads the Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana and gives pro bono support to veterans and refugees; and Karen provides pro bono patent counsel to rare disease nonprofits and the National MS Society.
