Four Morrison Foerster Partners Selected for Securities Docket’s “Enforcement Elite” 2025
Securities Docket has named MoFo partners Michael Birnbaum, Haima Marlier, Craig Martin, and Nicole Serfoss to its “Enforcement Elite” list for 2025, recognizing the best securities enforcement defense counsel in the industry. According to Securities Docket, the list honors professionals who “not only have the right stuff to handle bet-the-company matters, but are also the kind of defensive specialists critical to have on speed-dial should the SEC’s Division of Enforcement come calling.”
This marks the second year in a row the publication has recognized Michael, Haima, and Craig.
Michael is co-head of MoFo’s New York Litigation Department and a partner in the Securities Litigation, Securities Enforcement, and Investigations + White Collar Defense groups. Michael is a former SEC Senior Trial Counsel who represents U.S. and global financial institutions, including commercial and investment banks, audit and accounting firms, investment advisers, broker-dealers, and securities issuers facing internal and government investigations, regulatory enforcement proceedings, and private civil litigation.
Haima is co-chair of MoFo’s Securities Enforcement and Fintech practices and a partner in the Investigations + White Collar Defense Group. Drawing on her experience as a former SEC Senior Trial Counsel, Haima represents public and private companies, financial services providers, and individuals in SEC, CFTC, FINRA, and internal investigations, as well as other related litigation. She has extensive experience litigating in federal, state, and administrative courts, leading complex negotiations, and representing her clients in mediation.
Craig serves as co-chair of MoFo’s Investigations + White Collar Defense and Sustainability + Corporate Responsibility practice groups. Craig has led dozens of internal investigations, often on behalf of audit committees in matters involving complex financial accounting and reporting issues. In addition, Craig represents issuers involved in SEC and DOJ investigations, and he serves as personal counsel to executives and directors facing government and internal investigations.
Nicole co-chairs MoFo’s Securities Enforcement practice and is a partner in the Securities Litigation and Investigations + White Collar Defense practice groups. She has more than 15 years of experience representing clients in SEC enforcement matters, corporate internal investigations, securities class actions, and shareholder derivative suits. She represents companies, officers, and directors in a wide range of matters involving alleged accounting and disclosure issues.
