(January 22, 2026) – Morrison Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce the arrivals of Paul Lin as a partner in the Mergers + Acquisitions Group and Hyongsoon Kim as a partner in the Complex Litigation + Advisement Group, based in the Los Angeles office. Lin brings extensive cross-border corporate transactions, M&A/takeovers, and corporate finance experience to the firm. He routinely serves as outside general counsel for clients in commercial disputes. Kim brings significant experience defending clients in complex commercial litigation, with a substantial focus on high-value class actions and product liability matters.
“We are thrilled to welcome Paul and Hyongsoon to the firm and to the Los Angeles office,” said Erin Bosman, co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Global Litigation Department. “Their addition underscores the continued strategic expansion of our LA office, further strengthening our West Coast M&A footprint and reinforcing our top-tier complex litigation capabilities.”
Global Co-Chair of Morrison Foerster’s Transactions Department Brandon Parris added, “Paul is a highly experienced M&A attorney with extensive client relationships in Taiwan and a history of successful M&A and IP work. His synergistic relationship with Hyongsoon will benefit our clients not only on the ground in Los Angeles but across our global platform, in addition to reinforcing our tech, M&A, and transactional bench strength in Southern California.”
Lin and Kim join Morrison Foerster from another leading global law firm, where Lin was head of its Irvine, California office, and Kim was head of the California Litigation Group. Lin’s clients range from multinational public corporations and Chinese state-owned enterprises to privately held businesses and family offices. His clients span a broad range of industries, including technology, consumer products, infrastructure and city development, automotive, green energy, and biotech. Kim has defended clients against class actions, mass torts and product liability matters in state and federal courts throughout the United States and led the consumer class action practice at his prior firm. Kim’s experience spans a variety of industries, from electronics and digital platforms to automotive, medical, oil and gas, retail, and food and beverage, providing him with a breadth of insight into the unique risks and opportunities across sectors. In addition to their independent practices, Lin and Kim have worked closely over the last decade, with Kim acting as litigation counsel for Lin’s clients.
“Morrison Foerster has exceptional global transactional capabilities and one of the best IP practices and equally impressive national security regulatory, and ITC practices, all of which are highly synergistic with the work we do for our clients,” said Lin, “making MoFo the perfect platform to grow my practice working with the attorneys firmwide.”
“I am honored to join MoFo’s premier Complex Litigation +Advisement team, and I look forward to continue working closely with Paul and my new colleagues in Los Angeles and across the firm to deliver strategic, business-savvy solutions and obtain successful outcomes for our clients,” added Kim.
Lin’s and Kim’s arrivals highlight the continued strategic expansion of the Los Angeles office. With their additions, the firm has added three partners in Los Angeles, including Complex Litigation partner Ed Chang, who joined in September 2025.
