Two Morrison Foerster Partners Recognized as Notable Women in Law by Crain’s New York Business
Crain’s New York Business has named Morrison Foerster partners Carrie H. Cohen and Jamie A. Levitt to its list of Notable Women in Law for 2026. The award is given to women lawyers across the New York City metro area who are dedicated to serving clients with excellence while giving back to the community at large.
Carrie is the chair of the firm’s State + Local Government Enforcement team and a former global co-chair of the firm’s Investigations + White Collar Defense Group. Prior to joining the firm, she was an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York and held leadership positions in the New York State Attorney General’s Office, where she received the Louis J. Lefkowitz Memorial Award for outstanding service.
Committed to advancing the rule of law, Carrie serves on multiple bar committees and task forces. She was appointed by the Southern District of New York to its Criminal Justice Act Panel, serving as counsel to indigent defendants in federal criminal cases. She also is an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she teaches a seminar on public corruption and the law.
Jamie is an experienced trial lawyer who has served in various leadership roles, including as the co-chair of the firm’s Securities Litigation Group and Complex Litigation and Trial Group, and as managing partner of the firm’s New York office and Litigation Department. She has represented public companies and their officers and directors in securities and consumer fraud actions, shareholder derivative suits, and regulatory investigations.
A recognized leader within the firm and the broader legal community, Jamie has received numerous honors for her innovative leadership, commitment to pro bono service, and advancement of women in law. Among her many recognitions, Jamie has received The American Lawyer’s Corporate Purpose Award and the New York State Bar Association’s Kay Crawford Murray Award, for her dedication to advancing women in the profession. She serves on multiple boards and committees of public interest groups and as chair of the Morrison & Foerster Foundation.
