Adam is a trial lawyer, who focuses his practice on patent litigation. Adam’s clients look to him as lead counsel in district court litigation, post-grant proceedings at the Patent Office, and at the Federal Circuit. With every client, Adam starts by listening and learning about their business, so that he and his team can craft a bespoke legal strategy best suited to accomplish his client’s goals.Adam represents numerous Fortune 500 companies including Genentech, Shopify, Squarespace, and GoPro, as well as emerging and venture-funded companies across industry sectors. He was part of the team that led enforcement of Genentech’s Cabilly family of patents, which generated billions of dollars in licensing revenue, and also represented Genentech in some of the earliest litigations relating to biosimilar legislation. For his client Itron Networked Solutions, Inc., Adam led the team that succeeded in invalidating both asserted patents in IPR proceedings and then successfully defended the Board’s final written decisions at the Federal Circuit.As a result of Adam’s work, he has been recognized by numerous industry publications as a top life sciences litigator. Most recently, Adam was named a Litigation Star for 2023 by Benchmark Litigation.In addition to his patent litigation practice, Adam maintains an active pro bono practice, with a particular focus on foster care dependency proceedings. Eric Wiener focuses his practice on intellectual property and has significant experience with a range of commercial litigation.Eric has represented major biotech companies in high-stakes patent infringement, licensing, and trade secret disputes across the United States. A former math teacher, Eric relishes the technical and numerical aspects of cases.Eric earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Duke University School of Law, where he was elected to Order of the Coif and served as a notes editor for the Duke Law Journal. He obtained a B.A., cum laude, in mathematics and government from Bowdoin College.Eric is admitted to the State Bar of Virginia, the District of Columbia, and the State Bar of California.

Daralyn’s exceptional track record has earned her consistent recognition from leading national publications. Chambers has listed her among the top 10 intellectual property lawyers in the U.S. and Law360 has recognized her as an “Icon of IP” and an MVP. Benchmark Litigation reported that “going against her was like going against a boxer in which you know you’re going to get hurt.” She’s a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and an inductee into the California Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame.Daralyn’s legal career began at Berkeley Law, followed by a clerkship for the Honorable Douglas Ginsburg on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. She became a partner at a litigation boutique in 1999 and, in 2009, co-founded Durie Tangri, a premier litigation boutique that later combined with Morrison Foerster in 2023.In addition to her courtroom successes, Daralyn is actively involved in the legal community. She is a board member of the National Women’s Law Center, a past president of the Northern California Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and served as an adjunct professor at Berkeley Law, where she taught civil trial advocacy.Life SciencesDaralyn has decades of experience in the life sciences sector. She spearheaded the enforcement of Genentech’s Cabilly family of patents, which generated billions of dollars in licensing revenue. She served as lead counsel in the Herceptin biosimilar litigation and recently achieved a plaintiff-side jury verdict of $178 million in a patent infringement case involving melanoma therapy.TechnologyIn the tech sector, Daralyn recently won defense jury verdicts for Aptiv (USB hubs), Activision (in the Eastern District of Texas), and Redbubble. She served as lead counsel for Google, defending Google Books from copyright infringement claims. Jack Lane is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group.Jack received his J.D. magna cum laude from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. While in law school, he served as managing editor for the Northwestern University Law Review and competed on the Bartlit Center National Trial Team. Jack also served as a judicial extern to Judge Virginia M. Kendall on the Northern District of Illinois. Jack earned his B.A. in chemistry and mathematics from Johns Hopkins University.

Nate Tan is a DC-based intellectual property litigator with a background in Biomedical Engineering.Nate has experience in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigations through post-trial briefing.  Nate’s intellectual property practice spans patents, trade secrets, copyright, and related commercial matters.  He has been part of trial teams in jury trials, bench trials, ITC proceedings, and arbitrations.An engineer by training, Nate leverages his technical background to advocate for clients across a range of industries, including AI, telecommunications, cloud computing, semiconductors and lithography, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.  He frequently handles cross-border discovery, including under the Hague Evidence Convention.Nate earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he received the Dean’s Scholar Prize in Intellectual Property Litigation. He interned for the Honorable Dennis Saylor IV of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and for the Honorable Kathleen O’Malley of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He served on the submissions committee for the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology.Before law school, Nate was a lecturer in biomedical engineering at the University of the Philippines. He holds a B.S. magna cum laude in biomedical engineering and with a B.A. summa cum laude in biology from Boston University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.Nate maintains an active pro bono practice, most recently representing clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court.  He has co-authored several amicus briefs filed in federal and state courts on issues such as free speech, religious freedom, and immigration.An immigrant himself, Nate is fluent in Filipino.  He is admitted to practice in Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Charles Provine is an associate in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group based in Morrison Foerster’s Washington, D.C. office.Charles received his J.D., cum laude, from Duke University School of Law, where he served as the special projects editor for the Duke Law & Technology Review. While at Duke Law, he spent two semesters working in the Health Justice Clinic to serve the unmet legal needs of underserved members of the community facing serious illness. Charles also concurrently received an M.A. in bioethics and science policy from Duke University Graduate School. Prior to law and graduate school, Charles was a communications and policy intern for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.Charles received a B.S., summa cum laude, in biochemistry and molecular biology from Mississippi State University.
