(April 16, 2026) – Morrison Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce the arrival of Diane Hazel as a partner in the Antitrust Law Group in the Denver office. Hazel is a nationally recognized antitrust litigator and former government enforcer who represents clients in complex litigation and high-stakes investigations. A former attorney at both the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, she brings deep agency insight and strategic acumen defending clients in investigations by the FTC, Department of Justice, and state attorneys general.
Hazel joins Morrison Foerster from another prominent firm, where she built a nationally focused practice centered on high-stakes antitrust class actions and regulatory defense. She regularly represents clients facing allegations of price-fixing, market allocation, monopolization, and other forms of alleged anticompetitive conduct. Her litigation practice spans a range of industries, including technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy. In addition to her litigation and investigations work, Hazel counsels clients on consumer protection matters, including compliance with FTC rules and issues related to fees and disclosures. She also advises on antitrust aspects of joint ventures, competitor collaborations, information sharing, distribution contracts, product pricing, and mergers, including Hart-Scott-Rodino Act filings and merger reviews.
“Diane’s addition significantly strengthens and broadens our civil antitrust litigation platform, particularly in high-stakes class actions and complex Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) proceedings,” said Chair of Morrison Foerster’s Global Antitrust Law Group, Alexander Okuliar. “Additionally, Diane’s background as both an FTC attorney and former leader of the Colorado AG’s Antitrust Unit brings valuable state and federal enforcement insight to the firm, making her a strategically notable addition to our Antitrust team and to Morrison Foerster,” he added.
Previously, Hazel served as a First Assistant Attorney General at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, where she led the Antitrust Unit and supervised dozens of investigations and merger reviews. Earlier in her career, she served at the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, Health Care Division, where she investigated and prosecuted antitrust matters in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Hazel was awarded a Fulbright Grant by the U.S. State Department and spent a year in Namibia working with the Namibian government on antitrust and consumer protection initiatives.
“I was drawn to Morrison Foerster’s outstanding Antitrust team, many of whom, like me, have served in senior government roles, as well as the firm’s collaborative approach, strong litigation platform, and cross-practice integration—particularly in the technology and life sciences industries,” said Hazel. “MoFo is an ideal place to expand my antitrust practice while working alongside my new colleagues to strengthen its civil antitrust litigation capabilities, particularly in high-stakes class actions and MDL proceedings.”
