Carrie H. Cohen, chair of the firm’s State + Local Government Enforcement team, was honored at the Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS) 2026 Gala in New York. VOLS supports New Yorkers with comprehensive, free legal advice, representation, and education. Through its legal team and pro bono program, VOLS provides free legal services on a range of civil issues for communities throughout New York City.
Carrie maintains an active pro bono practice, leading MoFo’s involvement in the Eastern District of New York’s RAISE Court program, which helps individuals with federal convictions reintegrate into society and potentially end supervision early. She also works on immigration matters, including securing asylum for Afghan refugees and assisting domestic violence survivors in obtaining legal status under the Violence Against Women Act.
Committed to advancing the rule of law, Carrie serves on multiple bar committees and task forces. She was appointed by the Southern District of New York to its Criminal Justice Act Panel, serving as counsel to indigent defendants in federal criminal cases. She also is an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she teaches a seminar on public corruption and the law.
