Morrison Foerster (“MoFo”) has advised ViferaXS GmbH (“ViferaXS”), a German-based, clinical-stage biotechnology company developing immunotherapies against cancer, on its Series A financing round of up to €12 million, including grant funding, led by SPRIND, the German Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation, and Huma, with participation from private investors.
The proceeds will fund a Phase II clinical trial of ViferaXS’ lead product candidate, CLLTAXS01, in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), support ongoing Phase I programs in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and fibrolamellar carcinoma (FLC), and enable the company to grow its team and advance its preclinical pipeline.
The MoFo team was led by counsel Monika Obal (Venture Capital) and partner Wolfgang Schönig (Technology Transactions) with support by senior associate Omid Ebrahimzadeh (Venture Capital) and associate Zoé Menkhoff (Technology Transactions).
