(September 24, 2026) – Morrison Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce the arrival of Kaitlin Bagby as a partner in the firm’s Emerging Companies + Venture Capital (ECVC) Group, based in Palo Alto. Bagby brings over a decade of experience advising high-growth technology companies across the full corporate life cycle, from formation and venture financings through mergers & acquisitions and initial public offerings. She also represents leading venture capital investors in financings and other strategic transactions.
Bagby represents Morrison Foerster’s tenth ECVC partner addition since 2024, highlighting the firm’s continued strategic investment in its ECVC platform and expansion of its premier emerging companies capabilities in the United States. She brings deep relationships throughout the global venture ecosystem, including significant experience advising early-stage companies, particularly Y Combinator companies.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kaitlin to MoFo as another strategic addition to our growing ECVC practice,” said Jim Krenn, chair of MoFo’s ECVC Group. “Kaitlin is an exceptional emerging companies lawyer with deep relationships throughout the venture ecosystem and demonstrated experience supporting cross-practice work. She has a proven ability to develop trusted relationships with founders at an early stage and grow with them as their companies scale. That is exactly the kind of lifecycle practice we are continuing to build at MoFo.”
Bagby comes to MoFo from a leading global law firm where her practice spanned a range of innovative sectors, including fintech, artificial intelligence, software, and insurtech. She built her practice around longstanding relationships with founders, emerging companies, late-stage private companies and investors, serving as an embedded adviser as businesses grow and encounter increasingly complex financing, governance, transactional, and strategic needs.
“I am excited to join MoFo’s outstanding ECVC team and to contribute to the continued growth of the venture platform,” said Bagby. “MoFo’s collaborative culture, deep capabilities across practices and geographies, and commitment to supporting innovative companies at every stage of their growth provide an exceptional foundation for my clients. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to continue building relationships across the dynamic venture community and delivering practical, business-focused advice to companies and investors.”
“Kaitlin has been an invaluable partner to Y Combinator and our portfolio companies over the past decade,” said Brigid Davis, Senior Legal Counsel at Y Combinator. "We're excited that Kaitlin is joining Morrison Foerster and look forward to continuing to work with her and the broader MoFo team as they support the next generation of YC founders and companies."
